Article II · Membership

A membership built for insurance professionals.

Membership is open to qualified individuals in the insurance industry who meet criteria established and consistently applied by the Board of Directors.

Sections 2.1 and 2.2

Membership categories

Premier Member

An enhanced tier with expanded concierge, partnership, and professional-development access at a higher dues level.

General Member

Insurance professionals who meet standard eligibility criteria, with full access to core benefits and services.

Associate Member

Individuals supporting the insurance industry, with access to a defined subset of benefits established by the Board.

Honorary Member

Individuals recognized by the Board for distinguished contributions to the industry or NAABO. Non-voting unless otherwise designated.

Section 2.3

Application and approval

  1. Submit a complete membership application in the form prescribed by NAABO.
  2. The Membership Committee verifies eligibility and recommends approval or denial.
  3. Membership begins after approval and receipt of applicable dues. NAABO may decline an application that does not meet the eligibility criteria and will state the general basis for its decision.

Membership categories

Dues

  • Annual dues are set by the Board for each membership category.
  • Dues follow the Board’s payment schedule and are non-refundable unless the Board determines otherwise in writing.
  • The Board may adjust dues with reasonable advance notice.

Rights and responsibilities

Members in good standing receive the benefits of their category and, where applicable, may vote. Members must follow the Charter, bylaws, and code of conduct, keep dues current, and maintain accurate contact information.

Section 2.6

Resignation, suspension, and termination

  • A member may resign at any time by written notice; resignation does not entitle the member to a dues refund.
  • The Board may suspend or terminate membership for non-payment of dues, violation of the Charter or code of conduct, or conduct materially detrimental to NAABO.
  • Before termination for cause, the member receives written notice and a reasonable opportunity to respond. Board approval is required.
